Baby Gifts . . .

Someone I know might need baby gifts soon. No promises, but this might be the most hand-knitted child in the history of children, considering the friends his/her mother has. Mother pasted the following on her Pinterest:

Perhaps she needs a Star Wars Mobile? :)

My Sewing Circle

I came across this site, My Sewing Circle, when searching for a place to organize my fabric. It is modeled after Ravelry, where I spend the majority of my day, so it has potential. It's still starting up, but I think it may help keep me organized. I've noticed that I definitely don't buy as much yarn now that I have a record of every single skein I own.

I've found a few cute patterns that I want to try.

This is for a little boy shirt made out of an adult shirt. I have a few shirts myself that I can use for this.

I love this! I've found a few things with ties or belts sewn onto onesies. Such a simple idea!

I think this wold be so cute. I have some old jeans that are word out between the thighs, but they fit well on the rest of me. I don't know which crochet stitch this is though.

I'm trying to not be afraid of my sewing machine.

Also, this made my day.

Christmas Brainstorm . . . Market Totes

Ok, because the people for whom I knit gifts read this blog, I will have to keep this page in draft mode until December 26. Damn.

But I do my best work brainstorming via blog, so here we go.

I want to make market bags for people, since I always love how they look.

I get random emails from Lily Sugar N Cream, and last month they featured free patterns for a few market bags.

Jeans Tote (crochet)

Melon Pocket Bag (knit)

Super cute! I got to searching, and found a bunch of patterns I like.

A Granny Square bag, which will be for Emily, since she's a pro at Granny Squares.

A Montavilla Market Tote

A Lean to the Left tote

(and it's completely a coincidence that all the best pictures for the different bags were the same color yarn)

Update: November 12, 2011

I started Emily's Granny Square tote with some very funky Lily Sugar n Cream cotton yarn. I need to get some more, since it doesn't go as far as I thought. I think it's going to be cute.

I think I'm going to do this one for Stephanie:

It has a very cool bottom:

Update: January 9, 2012.

These both came out really good!

For Emily:

I used Lily Sugar n' Cream "Red" and "Cottage Twist".
I told Chris that it was for when she goes to the street markets in Germany (she moved today! BOO!).
Chris: "Oh, they have street markets there?"
Me: "Sure . . . they're very European over there."
Chris: "What with it being Europe . . ."

For Stephanie:

This came out so cute! I love the color, and Steph is a very "Sunshiney" person, so I think it fits.
